The Hiker is

eating Mounds Dark Chocolate and Coconut at Starbucks in Bishop.

The Summer Outside has everyone wearing shorts..

Even the cows cats and dogs.

It is a strange reality knowing tomorrow I will be heading back into High Elevation where Owen Valley 99° Hot Dog venue will turn into a Polar Bear festival of 40° popsicle snacks.

I have been learning about Time lapse and Hyper Lapse on the DJI Osmos Action 5 Pro.

I finally figured out that my Shoulder Strap Camera Mount also works on my Sternum Strap.

This makes it better for Film footage to be front and center.

Last night I tented in a field surrounded by cows in full moonlight.

I set up the camera for a 5 hour time lapse to capture the movement of stars and maybe discover a UFO.

I spent all day yesterday going over YouTube Instructors giving pointers on camera settings White Balance, EV settings, ISO ect.

I was jazzed...this will be my first time capturing Stars in Time Lapse.

It was night with a full moon in Owens Valley surrounded by the High Sierra and White Mountains.

I forgot something during the 5 Hour recording that only gives about 25 seconds of play back..

I forgot to remove my ND Filter.

In case you are wondering what a ND Filter does think about a pair of sunglasses made for a camera.

This did not work out so well for my recording.

I will test the time lapse again tonight this time without the ND Filter.

The purpose of the test is for the ascent to Mount Whitney where the Stars get really loud.

It is now 2:44 PM PDT I am going to watch Disney's Industrial Light & Magic Story of George Lucas and the incredible team that worked Star Wars into becoming some of the most inventive Camera and Model wizards of the 1970's.

The video may come across with a subdued sense with the music and all but in the case of Owens Valley at Independance Creek Camp Ground it is really like that. There is a longing peace at the cost of great expanse and wonder of Mountains on both sides of the Valley. The Sunsets and Sunrises sing out. The other Tent scene is the access gateway to Mather pass and Pinchot Pass. The colors the sounds the profound sense may put a hiker into a sense of isolation but your not. It is so huge and free any person could not help but feel isolated. Independance Camp Ground is just up the street from the town of Independance it is low cost and run by BLM. There is a Pit Toilet and Potable Water Spigots and the cool waters of Independance Creek that run through the camp ground shaded by Cotton Wood.
This will be my last Blog for Bishop California as I am heading out tomorrow back to Kearsarge Pass to finish the last stretch of the Sierra 500. I was able to obtain a another permit that will allow me to tent along Mount Whitney and the Portal Trail. I am looking at about 4-5 days with an ascent to summit Mount Whitney. After I am finished I will be heading back to Pasadena California.
