From Spooner Lake on the Tahoe Rim Trail Mile 64.5 to Kingsbury Mile 80.8 including a 1.5 walk in and out from Spooner Lake for water a Hiker will have to carry a 20 Mile water walk.
Tahoe Rim Trail hiker's starting from Spooner Lake will not reach a reliable source until Edge Water Creek in Kingsbury the total distance of 17.3 Miles of exposed terrain and elevation.
NOTE: This water report is from July 2nd 2025.
No mater how a Hiker on Eastern Side of the Tahoe Rim Trail might plan hiker's must pay attention to their water carry.
Please communicate.

NEVER RELY ON WATER CACHES:
Most hikers on the TRT rely on the comments in the Farout Guide hiker application that provides a excellent source of information on the Tahoe Rim Trail
Including Water Caches.
One hiker going Clockwise on the TRT said in passing with the look of warning and fear in his eyes. "There is no water cache at the Spooner Summit Trail Head"
I did not know what to do except head down to Spooner Lake and draw water from there.
I thought about other hikers that might be hiking counter Clockwise on the TRT from Kingsbury..
I decided to grab two empty Gallon Jugs and carried them down 1.5 Miles to the lake.

When I began heading down to the lake I talked with two joggers..
There is a New State Parks Visiting Center one mile off the loop trail.
This place has everything, New Restrooms, Power Outlets, Cold Drinking Fountains, Water Pumps only 1.5 Miles from the Spooner Summit Trail.
I filled up 2 Gallon Jugs filling also all 4 of my Smart Water 1L bottles.
For extra measure two Gatorade Bottles.
I stayed overnight at the visiting center and carried all the water back up to the Spooner Summit Trail Head dropped them off and made note on the Farout Guide for the Tahoe Rim Trail.
