I left Echo Summit SOBO PCT Mile 1563.09 into the well known west of the Eldorado National Forest where stories of Gold Diggers, Riders of the Pony Express, and Gunslingers saga's have lured many into its fashion and Culture.

I believe the impact of film making in the West should be credited to the scenery, and the rugged geography,

I should know my legs and feet have been yelling at me.

As I broke down my gear I thought to myself, the terrain from the Tahoe Rim Trail is not the same as the Eldorado.

The further south towards Sonora Pass the higher the elevations began to rise.

I broke sweat upon sweat the heat below rising from the canyons like a bake oven and the cooling breeze with each step to higher granite ground.

In the distance parched ground sounded thunder.

Its always that way when heat gets trapped beneath the passes, clouds begin to gather letting the Sierra know that it's aware of the heat it edures.

The rain brings relief sustance and cooling.

South Bounders on the Pacific Crest Trail see and feel the transition coming out of the Tahoe's into the High Sierra.

Everything opens up into

a cathedral of Granite shooting up into the sky.

As Pacific Crest Trail through Hikers head north to Canada the forests will begin to creep in without notice,

the result of "the zone" effect...

The impact doesn't happen until we are well into the forest.

Later we stop and say,

Hey....what happened to the wide open views and the wisp of cool breeze from the 700 miles of desert mountains and the High Sierra ?

I am heading that way.

In the last couple days I have already passed up about 100 PCT hikers heading to the next resupply in South Lake Tahoe.

I am here at Kennedy Meadows North resupplied with food, everything recharged my transportation leaves at 2:30 PM PDT.

The best deal I found at the Cafe next door to the store is the Large Seasoned French Fries, Soup and Salad Bar.

Under $12.00 👍

Washing it down with two Gatorades.

Some Hikers might find Kennedy Meadows a little pocket book stiff but it's worth it.

The Tent sites are 40 bucks per hiker the perks include Wi-Fi, Laundry, Hot Shower and transportation back to the trail ( 7 miles)

One hiker (veggie) came in from Mammoth pulled in 115 miles without resupplying at Yosemite.

I will be doing a Nero today I will hike about 4-5 Miles into the trail.

I will be heading toTioga Pass for my next resupply in 71 Miles.

See you at the next section.

Rebo, LZ here, met you right before you headed down into Sonora Pass. I dropped in to check out your blog and say hello. It was good to meet such a trail veteran out there. Good luck to you on your hikes this year.
