Tahoe Rim Trail Hiker "Spoon" is looking over the pictures of our recent visit in Tahoe City. While in town we met up with a Hiker friend "Par 3" who hiked with us on the Pacific Crest Trail in 2015. The Black & White Picture are from the Pacific Crest Trail where Par 3 is looking at the camera wearing a hat backwards other hikers in the back ground are waving at the camera. We were only 30 miles from the Canadian / USA border.

Getting back to the trail after a towney visit can be slow going. Spoon an I agreed upon on a tent site so we can each hike at our own pace.

Along the way we met a young beautiful women "Tilley" with the likeness of Wonder Women who was bearing down with a 75 L Gregory Backpack 🎒

Wearing boots...ouch.

It was a painful thing to look upon.

All of us have been through this learning curve faced with the injuries and difference between camp backpacking into wilderness as opposed to through hiking multiple miles through wilderness.

"Tilly" was in pain.

Spoon and I stepped off with "Tilley" for a break under shade, Tilley shared with us that she was also carrying the weight of two open blisters on the back side of her heel. Her boots were digging into the open wound making each step difficult to walk.

We talked about foot wear and the size of foot wear that it is so very important to go 1 size to 1-1/2 size larger then your normal street wear back home.

This means if you wear Size 9 and order new trail shoes go size 10 to 10-1/2

Be sure to wear two layer socks one super light inner sock and one larger expidetion mountaineering sock on the outside.

I also recommend to anyone that is through hiking multiple miles like the Tahoe Rim Trail to consider going with trail runners with gators.

Spoon is wearing "Topo Ventures"

Rebo is wearing Lone Peak Altra "Timps"

There are other brands like "Hooka" and "Brooks Cascades"

My very first Trail runners I used when I first started long distance through hiking was "Saucony"

We walked along side "Tilley" to reliable Springs at TRT Mile 31.6

Where there was a female hiker who was Tenting alongside the stream. "Tilley" stopped off, made new company and soaked her feet in cool water.

Love you Tilley 🥊

Spoon and continued on trail to Galena Water Falls TRT Mile 37.8 made camp woke the next morning to Mount Rose Summit Trail Head and Hitched a ride into Incline Village to have breakfast at Starbucks and recharge our devices.

James a local in the community of Incline Village drove us back up to the trail head by 12:00 PM.

We found shade for a short siesta at Ophir creek TRT 42.7 It was one of the best foot washes I ever had.

We are now headed today Sunday June 29th 2025 to Kingsbury where the ski resort built a store and cafe up by where the TRT crosses.

We are almost finished.

Spoon has been an incredible resource having done the trail before.

Water issues are very important for dailey navigation planning.

Thank You Spoon for the valuable💧h20 support.
